Glazed Pork Chops

Hands down, this is one of my favorite ways to cook pork chops. Glazed Pork Chops are so flavorful and you can have them cooked and on the table within 20 minutes.

All you need is: olive oil, boneless pork chops, brown sugar, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper, and cayenne powder.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. In a shallow container large enough to fit a pork chop, mix your brown sugar and seasonings together.

Dip each pork chop into the mixture being sure to cover both sides well.

Heat olive oil in a large, oven-safe skillet over medium heat. If you don’t have an oven safe skillet, just heat it in a regular frying pan and you can transfer the pork chops to another pan for the oven later.

When the oil is ready (it will begin to shimmer), add the pork chops to the pan and cook them for about 4-5 minutes on each side until nicely browned. The time you cook them will depend on how thick they are.

When they are nice and brown, transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and cook them for another 5-10 minutes to make sure they are cooked all the way through. If your pork chops aren’t very thick, then you may not need to cook them in the oven at all. I always put mine in the oven for at least 5 minutes, and they always come out great! If they are super thick, you can cook them longer if needed.

Dip the pork chops in the extra sauce in the pan just before serving.

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 4 thick-cut boneless pork chops
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper more or less to taste
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper more or less to taste; optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a small container large enough to fit the pork chops, combine the brown sugar and seasonings.
  • Dip each pork chop into the brown sugar mixture being sure to cover all sides. The moisture from the pork chops will help the seasonings to stick.

  • Once the oil is heated (it will have a shimmer to it), add the pork chops to the skillet and cook them for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until nicely browned.
  • Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake them for another 5-10 minutes to make sure they are fully cooked. ***See notes.
  • Dip the pork chops in the extra sauce in the pan before serving.

Notes

If your pork chops aren't very thick, then you may not need to cook them in the oven at all. I always put mine in the oven for at least 5 minutes, and they always come out great! If they are super thick, you can cook them longer if needed
