Smothered Green Beans

These green beans are topped with crumbled bacon and a brown sugar and butter mixture. They are very flavorful and make the perfect side dish for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 5 (15 oz) cans of cut green beans drained
  • 1 lb bacon
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Pour drained green beans into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Cook bacon until almost done, but not too crispy. Remove from skillet, drain on paper towels, and chop into small pieces.
  • Sprinkle cooked bacon on top of green beans.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic powder.
  • Pour evenly over green beans and bacon.
  • Bake uncovered for 40 minutes and serve.
